Bomb Memorial – Fleur du Mal

The idea arose from a sudden creative impulse that imagines a reaction between two fundamental, interconnected natural phenomena – land and sea. The concept seeks to eliminate artificially shaped surroundings and instead focus on the real relationship to the destroyed point of explosion, regardless of how, by whom, or where it occurred.

The monument is envisioned as a mutable form, constructed from the inside out, defined by horizontal and vertical lines, expanding toward and from the center. It is based on physical laws (pressure, motion, force) and architectural principles (direction, balance, proportion). A vertical line and a slightly compressed sphere symbolize the targeted point and the infinite energy of (self-)destruction.
